Police are being tight-lipped about an operation in Putney involving firearms experts.
The Wandsworth Guardian quizzed police after a report emerged claiming officers were hunting for a man wanted in connection with firearms offences near Dover House Road last Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for Wandsworth police confirmed experts from the Metropolitan Police Service’s firearms command unit supported officers in Huntingfield Road during “an operation to locate and arrest suspects wanted for questioning for offences”.
The spokeswoman said no arrests were made but said she could not comment further.
